For thousands of years, Tibetan Buddhist meditators have used this painting to guide them through the nine essential stages of meditation concentration (shamatha), in order to acquire true comprehension through a state of insight (vipashyana). Reproductions of this image can be found in temples, monasteries, and teaching centers all over the world. Based on instructions originally given by Buddha Maitreya, this painting faithfully represents the essential steps towards establishing a truly effective practice of meditation.

This is a great piece of art to have a peaceful home. It's a great reminder when I wake up in the morning to observe.
I am trying to make my home's atmosphere more peaceful and conducive to meditation. The poster is prominantly dislayed on my wall and serves as a useful reminder of the spiritual path I have undertaken.
Many thanks!
It's even more beautiful than the online image. It is now framed and on the wall in a quiet, contemplative spot in my home. Really enjoy just gazing at this one, very glad to have it. Thank you Glorian.
