Storax bark (Liquidambar orientalis) from Turkey has been used since the days of ancient Mesopotamia. Phoenician and Egyptian traders treasured it for its wonderful aromatic properties. It is also known as "Turkish Sweetgum". The Storax bark produces a beautifully strong, sweet, flowery, balsamic, woody, and slightly grassy fragrance.
Storax is a perfume of the Sun, and can be lit directly, or burned by placing a bit on a lit charcoal.
"The storax tree symbolizes wisdom and justice. The mantra of this tree is “Toliphando.” The elemental department of the storax tree is found to be intimately related with the activities of karma." - Samael Aun Weor, Igneous Rose
