Copal Resin Incense, Mayan

Notify me when this product is available:

Copal resin is derived from the copal tree Protium copal (Burseraceae). The word Copal is derived from the Nahuatl language word copalli, meaning "incense."

Copal was burnt by the Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas, as a gift to the Sun. Copal is still sacred to the indigenous cultures of Central and South America. Copal is said to carry messages to the spirit world.

Includes one (1) ounce of copal resin.

Uses of Copal:

  • Cleanse a space
  • Drive away negative influences
  • Repel noxious substances

How to Use:

  • In a brazier or firesafe pot, light an incense charcoal. When it is white hot, place some copal onto the coal. Enjoy!

Very good incense. Many "Copals" you buy are actually Dammar. This is definitely Copal!

I love all of the copals, including Dammar. There are definitely similarities and differences. Super earthy, very cleansing.
