Frankincense, also called olibanum, is derived from Boswellia trees. It is a common incense in many traditions, and it has tremendous abilities.
Until recently, this rare and treasured frankincense resin has not been available in the U.S.
Maydi Frankincense is a blend of several grades of Boswellia frereana: Mushaad (1st choice) plus top three grades mixed and imported direct from Somalia. The tree is known as "Yagcar" by the Somalis, "Yegaar" in Yemen and "Luban Lami" in Arabic. Maydi is considered to be superior to other frankincense varieties by the Somali and Middle Eastern peoples.
This frankincense species is found only on the steep vertical slopes of coastal Northern Somalia. It has a deeper, more balsamic and resinous aroma than the popular B. sacra and B. carteri species but with its own wonderful light and lively top notes.
Frankincense is related to Saturn, the Sun, and the sign of Leo. When Leo people are sick, to be healed quickly they must smell frankincense on a daily basis.
