A Book by Samael Aun Weor

How to be Born Again: the Science to Create the Superhuman

"Whosoever is dressed with the cloud of virtue is liberated from sufferings..." —Samael Aun Weor

Scriptures like the Vedas and Genesis symbolically describe the laws of creation, the causes of universes, worlds, and all living beings. By knowing those laws and acting in harmony with them, one can originate a new creation within oneself: the birth of the superhuman, a feat described by Jesus as being "born again." In this book Samael Aun Weor explores this theme by reflecting on the mysteries of Egyptian writings, Tibetan Buddhism, Kabbalah and the Tree of Life, and the Stanzas of Dzyan, an ancient scripture first made public by H.P. Blavatsky in "The Secret Doctrine." He also relates his personal experiences of meditation, vividly demonstrating that genuine spiritual development is a conscious experience. From all of this you will learn the exact science to achieve not only the Second Birth (the creation of the soul), but also liberation from suffering by eliminating its cause: our psychological defects.

"...there are degrees and degrees in everything, and different levels of being. Above us is a superior level of being, and below us an inferior level of being. We can pass into a superior level only by eliminating a certain quantity of undesirable psychic aggregates (defects), which we carry within our interior. Obviously, only in this way is it possible to reach the highest level of being in order to transform ourselves into superhumans." —Samael Aun Weor

    The Cosmic Poetry

In Cosmic Teachings of a Lama, Samael Aun Weor utilizes a poetic, metaphoric and symbolic language to present the secrets of creation, the goal of existence and the roadmap to unite with the authentic Being and to return to the source of creation, the Abstract Absolute Space.
The book begins with the Stanzas of Dzyan and right there in the Prologue, reveals the history and the story of Creation and Existence. There is a meaning to this; knowledge of Creation and Existence is not an end, but just a beginning. It is the beginning of a journey that is further explained and explored in the next forty eight chapters until one reaches the point of Negative Confession which is when Egos and Lunar Bodies do not exist anymore. The last chapter is a hint for walking on the road; experience of the Absolute and Transformation can only occur in silence and stillness of the mind.

In my opinion, this should be the first of Samael Aun Weor's books you read.

My reason for feeling this way is that the editor's notes give extremely important information regarding how to read the book for maximum understanding. I feel all of Samael Aun Weor's books should be read the same way, because as the editors explain, “this book was written for the only part of us that has any chance of understanding it: the consciousness, which is non-linear, intuitive, insightful , and wise.” Let me quote a couple more lines: "to understand this book, read it consciously, slowly, listening to the quiet impulses of your heart, and then go further: meditate profoundly on what you read here, for only then can the meaning become clear.”
The subtitle is “How to Be Born Again, The Science to Create the Superhuman” so each of the 49 chapters will help you develop your inner self/life.
For me it is an important reference book and a part of my Samael Aun Weor library. I love the book. It is a good size with a beautiful cover, has 334 pages and contains illustrations and a great glossary.
One last note: you need to know how to meditate to be able to understand this book. If you have not yet started meditating, I can suggest the book “The Elimination of Satan’s Tail” by the same author. It is a book on Gnostic psychology, meditation and the origins of suffering and has a chapter devoted to the techniques of meditation.
