Copal resin is derived from the copal tree Protium copal (Burseraceae). The word Copal is derived from the Nahuatl language word copalli, meaning "incense."
Copal was burnt by the Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas, as a gift to the Sun. Copal is still sacred to the indigenous cultures of Central and South America. Copal is said to carry messages to the spirit world.
Includes one (1) ounce of copal resin.
Gums, resins, and powders are best used with charcoal and a brazier. This ancient method is very easy and effective, but requires vigilance and caution, since it depends on fire. Be alert to ensuring that whatever you burn is kept far from flammable materials.
In a brazier or firesafe pot, light an incense charcoal. When it is white hot, spoon some incense onto the coal.
I like it more than the white and mayan. Golden copal is a must try!
This is a high quality resin. They come in big chunks which is okay, because they easily crumble. Very good clarity, and they melt beautifully. Met my needs.
